Our Work in Pontefract
Enabling Youth and Motocross CIC (EYAM) delivers a wide range of youth work in Pontefract, supporting young people through consistent, relationship-based practice. We provide open-access youth club sessions, targeted small group work, and drop-in support for young people who need a safe space, trusted adults, and positive activities. Alongside centre-based delivery, we also run detached youth work in local neighbourhoods, meeting young people where they are and offering early help, guidance, and support.
Our work is strengths-based, trauma-informed and youth-led, with young people shaping activities through Youth Voice and steering group involvement. We create opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop life skills, improve wellbeing, and feel a stronger sense of belonging in their community. We also work closely with local partners, schools, community organisations, and services to ensure young people in Pontefract have access to the right support at the right time.
Pontefract As One
With support from The National Lottery Community Fund, EYAM CIC delivers ongoing youth work in Pontefract through our Pontefract As One programme. The project provides open access youth clubs, drop-in support and detached youth work, ensuring young people have safe spaces, trusted adults, and positive opportunities in their community. Young people shape the project through Youth Voice and youth-led planning, helping build confidence, wellbeing, and a stronger sense of belonging in Pontefract.

OAYP Funding in Pontefract
Through support from Wakefield Council’s OAYP (Open Access Youth Provision) funding, EYAM CIC delivers open access youth work in Pontefract, providing safe, consistent spaces for young people to meet, take part in positive activities, and access trusted support. Our sessions are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, offering young people opportunities to build confidence, develop life skills, improve wellbeing, and strengthen friendships. Alongside youth club delivery, our team also provides informal guidance and early help, ensuring young people can access the right support at the right time.

Prosper Together Wakefield Funding
EYAM CIC received unrestricted funding from Prosper Together Wakefield, which has helped strengthen our organisation and improve how we communicate with young people and the wider community. The funding has supported our social media and digital engagement, allowing us to promote sessions more effectively, share positive messages, and celebrate young people’s achievements and involvement.
Having unrestricted funding has also helped us build capacity behind the scenes, improving consistency, visibility and long-term sustainability. This means more young people in Pontefract and across our delivery areas can find out about what’s available, access support earlier, and feel connected to their local youth provision.

Our work in Knottingley
EYAM CIC delivers youth work in Knottingley that is focused on consistent support, early help, and building trusted relationships with young people. Our team provides detached youth work sessions in local neighbourhoods, meeting young people where they are and offering a safe, approachable presence in the community. This allows us to engage young people who may not attend structured provision, and to respond quickly to issues affecting them such as wellbeing, peer conflict, community safety, and feeling disconnected.
Alongside street-based work, we support young people through informal guidance, one-to-one conversations, and opportunities to get involved in positive activities. Our approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed and young person led — meaning we focus on what young people can do, not what they can’t, and we actively involve them in shaping future youth provision.
A key part of our work in Knottingley is listening to young people and supporting their voice. We carry out consultations and youth-led engagement to understand what young people want locally, and to help shape future youth opportunities in the town. Through this work, we aim to strengthen belonging, increase positive activity, and ensure young people feel seen, supported, and valued within their community.
Our youth work in Knottingley is made possible through a combination of local and community funding. This includes support from Wakefield Council (WMDC), Move More Wakefield, and wider organisational funding that helps us sustain delivery, reach young people consistently, and respond to emerging needs in the community.
We are grateful to our funders for investing in youth work that supports young people’s wellbeing, confidence, safety, and sense of belonging in Knottingley.

Our work in the
Holme Valley

EYAM CIC supports young people across the Holme Valley through relationship-based youth work that is focused on inclusion, wellbeing, and community connection. Our work aims to ensure young people have access to safe spaces, trusted adults, and meaningful opportunities to be involved in their local area.
We work alongside local partners and community groups to strengthen youth provision, improve young people’s voice in decision-making, and create opportunities for positive activities that build confidence, skills and belonging. This includes supporting youth consultation, encouraging civic engagement, and helping young people influence what happens in their community.
A key part of our work in the Holme Valley is supporting young people to feel heard and valued — not only in youth settings, but also within wider community spaces. Through our strengths-based and young person led approach, we aim to help young people build positive relationships, feel proud of where they live, and take an active role in shaping the future of the Holme Valley.
